How ‘Melted Vectors’ Was Created:
I started this project out by laying out the text in Illustrator and playing with various typefaces and compositions until I arrived at a solution that I thought would work. I then began to use a pressure brush to draw the drips and melts over the text. I then expanded the appearance of all of the brushes and used pathfinder to merge the melted shapes with the text. Now that I have the essential vectors built, I paste the artwork into Photoshop where I add color, texture, and the shadows/highlights to complete the art.

Why I Created ‘Melted Vectors’:
First I should mention, that this piece was inspired by Nicolas Girard’s work, which you can view on his website: http://nicolasgirard.ca/ – The words, “No One Knows” refers to the idea that there are no real answers to the “big questions“. Taking this idea a step further I wanted to express how someone’s sense of reality will surely change and in some ways, melt away, when they realize that no one really knows.
